All behaviour problem consultations are by vet referral so that any medical causes for problem behaviour can be ruled out.
If there is a medical aspect I will work alongside your vet to compliment any treatment programme he may have.
To make an appointment with me you need to see your vet to ensure the problem is behavioural. Once the vet has established that there is no medical reason for the behaviour, ask him to refer you to me. This can be done by filling in a referral form and sending to me, or by telephone.
When I receive a referral I will telephone you to get a brief outline of the problem and make an appointment to visit you to conduct the consultation.

Consultations are done via a home visit. It is helpful if the pet(s) is there for me to observe him in general, whether or not he performs the problem behaviour.
The initial consultation will last approximately 1 ½ to 2 hours. I will take a detailed history of the problem and the pet(s) involved, looking at the motivation for the behaviour, the mood state of the pet(s) and the reasons for the behaviour continuing.
I use a holistic approach, looking at your pet’s lifestyle as a whole, and addressing any issues, which may be contributing to the unacceptable behaviour, such as diet, training, exercise, routine and relationships.
I will explain the reasons behind the behaviour and talk through the ways to resolve this behaviour. Any programmes put in place will consist of kind and practical methods, also taking your lifestyle and routine into account to minimise disruption to your household and make the changes manageable.
A written Consultation Report detailing what we have discussed and any programmes put in place will be sent to you following the consultation.
A summary of this will also be sent to the referring veterinary surgeon.
Follow up telephone consultations are included in the fee and arranged as necessary.
I charge £75 for the initial consultation, which includes devising any programmes that may be needed, the written reports and telephone support as necessary.
Any follow up visits are charged at £40 per hour.
Mileage is included in the fees for a distance of up to 20 miles around Latton, Wiltshire. Visits outside of this area will be subject to additional travel costs.
Payment is due in full at the time of the consultation by cash or cheque.
Cheques should be made payable to PetPerfect Pet Behaviour and should be accompanied by a valid cheque guarantee card.
Credit cards are not accepted at this time.
